10 - Lasting Memories Layout Challenges DT Reveal

Happy Sunday morning everyone. It is time for the latest Lasting Memories Layout Challenges Design Team Reveal. We are starting the May Challenges a day early (hard to believe it is the end of April already). The theme for May is "All about the BIG picture" and today's challenge is use small embellishments (buttons, brads, bling, enamel dots, etc...) to create BIG number (s) or letter(s) on your layout.

Here is my layout....

I choose to create a birthday layout of my Grandson on his 10th birthday. I cut a large number 10 on my Silhouette. I choose a cut file with a shadow feature and cut it in red cardstock. Then I started to fill in the white space with buttons....Lots and lots of buttons.

Here are some closeups...

To go with the birthday theme I added some Simple Stories stickers from the Let's Party line.

I created doodling around the number 10 to add some fun detail.

Product List - AC Cardstock, Simple Stories - Let's Party stickers, Queen & Co. bubbles and the buttons are all from my Stash.

Be sure to stop by the Lasting Memories Blog to check out the rest of the team's creations and then get creative and show us what you come up with for this challenge.

I was also inspired by the challenge at Scrapping 4 Fun Challenges - Anything Goes for International Scrapbooking Week.

Project Life Card

Happy Friday everyone. I for one am very happy that it is the weekend.

I am back to share my final Project Life card of the week...

This isn't the best photo, it was very windy while I was trying to take the picture and it kept falling over. A closeup follows.

I used some thin dies and my Cuddlebug for my embellishing of this card. Add a couple of stickers and voila!!!

And here is the final Pocket page all put together with the photos and the four cards. I am really happy with the results.

I used the sketch from Sketches In Thyme Project Life Style

Project Life Journal Card

One last Project Life card to share with you tonight...

And a closeup of this journal card. What a great way to use up those little bits and pieces of paper.

And once again I used the sketch #68 fromSketches In Thyme PL Style. Again I turned the sketch on it's side to fit my pocket page style.

Okay...I am hooked...maybe I can get this Wedding Album finished a little faster???

Thanks for stopping by! Stay Crafty!!!

Good Times - Love You

I am back with another Project Life Card share with you this evening.

Another PL card for the Wedding Album.

And a closeup...I used a large washi tape to add my sentiment.

I used another one of the April Sketches from Sketches In Thyme Project Life Style. I took a little liberty with this sketch and turned it on it's side as my Pocket pages are horizontal for this particular page.

I told you I liked this challenge...

Just Adorable

Good Afternoon everyone, it is a lovely warm Spring afternoon here is Southern Ontario. We have had rain showers off and on all day and they are calling for thunderstorms. April showers bring May flowers!!!

I have a Spring layout to share with you today....

Aren't they just adorable. This photo was taken last Spring when our Crabapple tree was in full bloom.

Here are some closeups...

I made my title with Thickers and Rub-ons and I stitched over top of both. I added my journaling to one of the tags and then covered it with a decorative vellum tag. I added some more Rub-Ons to the bottom tag.

Machine stitching adds wonderful accents and texture.

I covered this chipboard arrow with a piece of the cardstock.

Product List: AC Cardstock, American Crafts - Hello Sunshine paper & tags, Whisper Graphics tag, Recollections tag and button brads, MME Rub-On, Fancy Pants Rub-On, Thickers, and the chipboard arrow and other brads are from my stash.

I was inspired by the Citrus Twist Kit Sketch from 4_9.

And by the following challenges:
Scrap Our Stash Tic Tac Toe Challenge. I used the bottom row - Yellow, Rub-Ons and Thickers.

Use Your Stuff Challenge to use eyelets and brads
 and
Archi-scraps to use stitching.

Decisions....Decisions...Decisions!!!

Happy Easter Monday everyone, I am one of the lucky ones and I have today off too. It has been a fabulous four day long weekend spent with family. Today I am able to get in some scrapping time. I probably should be outside working in my gardens, but I overdid it and my knees are telling me to just sit down for a bit.

Today I would like to share a layout with you which explains how I overdid it....

A few weeks ago while preparing to paint our dining room which is partially paneled in 1960's paneling, I thought I would peek behind the paneling and see what was underneath. Low and behold, the original outside wall of our house (the dining room was an addition sometime in the 60's). Beautiful shiplap boarding....what a fabulous 100+ year old treasure. I was very excited....my husband not so much. So we decided to tackle half of the room at a time as about 25 years ago we made our dining room larger by taking down a wall, which we had to leave an exposed beam across the center as it is a supporting wall.

My next job was to decide on a paint colour for the other walls. I went to our local hardware store and picked up a selection of grey paint chips....who knew there would be so many???

I added a bit of texture to the background with a crackle stencil and Ranger Texture Paste.

My paint chips were the perfect addition to my layout. I circled the colour that I choose and added the name for possible future reference. When all done I added some paint splatters....much like I was covered in while painting the ceiling.

Product List: AC Cardstock kraft paper, Cosmo Cricket alpha, Doodlebug Design Inc. alpha, Basic Grey alpha, and chipboard kraft alpha from Target. The few little paper scraps that I used are from my stash.

The challenge this month at Kraft+ - Swatch it Up!!!

So now you know how I overdid it. Working with knees that I have been told are 15+ years older than the rest of me...I'd say I did pretty good. Stay tuned for phase 2!!!
