Shining Stars! Lasting Memories Layout Challenges DT Reveal

Happy Sunday everyone....it is time for Lasting Memories Design Team Reveal. We are continuing with the "Welcome to the Oscars" theme and this weeks challenge is "Black Tie Affair" to showcase something fancy or to use black on your layout.

I choose to do both....here is my layout....

This photo was taken in 2005 when my husband and I attended the Shining Stars Tourism Awards Gala. The theme for the evening was Mardi Gras. The tournament that I had organized the year before was up for an award. Also my employer and my favourite place to volunteer was also up for an award. It was an amazing evening as all three won! We posed for this photo with everyone that was part of the exciting evening. These are all amazing people, some which have now passed. I am thrilled to have worked with these people on both a professional and more importantly as a volunteer. This evening will always hold a special memory for me.

Here are some closeups....

I used the following sketch from Sketches In Thyme #187.

Be sure to stop by Lasting Memories and see what the rest of the team created and come back and link up yours by the end of the month.

Enjoy the rest of your weekend! Stay Crafty!!!

STAR WARS MOVIE - LASTING MEMORIES Layout Challenges DT Reveal

Good Morning Everyone. I hope you are enjoying your weekend.

It is time for the Lasting Memories Layout Challenges Design Team Reveal. We are continuing with the theme of "Welcome to The Oscars" for March. Today's challenge is "Anything Goes"!!!

Here is my layout....

I choose to go with the Movie theme. We went to see the new Star Wars Movie in 3D on New Year's Eve with our Grandsons and their parents. Dinner and a Movie with family is a "GREAT" way to ring in the New Year.

Here are some closeups...

I cut out the stars, planet and title with my Silhouette.

I used one of my friend, Laura Whittaker's sketches from last October's Stuck?! Sketches reveal as my starting point. I thought that the large star in the background was a great backdrop for my Star Wars photos.

Product List: Kaisercraft - Sears & Son paper, Lori Whitlock - This & That paper, Lucky 7 Factory (made in Canada) paper, Studio Calico wood veneer, tickets and washi from my stash and some free Star Wars printables that I found on Pinterest.

Be sure to stop by the Lasting Memories Blog to check out the rest of the teams creations and then get creative and show us what you come up with our "Welcome to the Oscars" - Anything Goes theme.

I was also inspired by the following challenges:
Shopping Our Stash - White Out - no white paper
Scrapping4Fun - Anything Goes
Silhouette Challenges - Anything Goes
